On January 30, our university hosted a meeting between 3rd- and 4th-year students, as well as master's students, and the Deputy Akim of the West Kazakhstan Region, Qairzhan Mendigaliev. The main goal of the meeting was to provide young people with information about employment opportunities, professional development, and career growth.
In 1984, the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov (now Al-Farabi Kazakh National University) celebrated its 50th anniversary. To mark this significant occasion, a documentary film was created, showcasing the university's history, its contributions to science and education, and its future prospects. The video, produced during the Soviet era, provides a glimpse into the past of one of Kazakhstan’s leading higher education institutions and highlights how the traditions of academic excellence were established.

On January 5, 2025, by decree of the Head of State, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Shaldanbay Talgat Rakhymkululy, was appointed as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Iraq and the State of Palestine concurrently (Akorda, 2025).
On January 5, 2025, by the Decree of the Head of State, Zhenis Askar Zhenisuly was appointed as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Graduates of the Faculty of Journalism at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU), class of 1994, made a special New Year’s gift to their alma mater.
