Happy Anniversary, Nagima Abenovna!
Nagima Abenovna Aitkhozhina was born Feb. 22, 1946 in Petropavlovsk. He graduated from the biological faculty of Kazakh State University in 1969. Postgraduate Institute of Molecular Biology, Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1970-1973), a junior, senior researcher at the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR (1973-1983), Senior, Senior Fellow, Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR (1983-1989), head of the laboratory (with 1989) Acting Director (1988-1990), director of the Institute of molecular Biology and Biochemistry named after M.A. Aitkhozhin (1990-present). By the way, the organizer and first director of the Institute was Academician, winner of the Lenin Prize, Doctor of Biological Sciences.
Nagima Abenovna was elected an academician-secretary of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1996-1999) and president of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan (January 1999-April 2002).
Nagima Abenovna - a recognized expert in the field of molecular biology, Doctor of Biological Sciences (1990), Professor (1995), corresponding member of NAS RK (1995), Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan (2003), member of the New York Academy of Sciences (1994). She was awarded the Order of "Parasat" (2001), Diploma of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR.
People's deputy of the USSR from the Soviet Women's Committee (1989-1991). Member of the National Public Policy Council under the President of RK. Member of the International Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB).
