Graduates of the Faculty of Chemistry of KazGU in 1977 founded a scholarship named after Iskander Amanzhol, a well-known Kazakhstani journalist. He at various times worked as a correspondent in the republican publications, in the newspaper "Karavan", the portal "Exclusive". His premature death pained in the hearts of his fellow students.

The scholarship of Iskander Amanzhol in the amount of 100 000 tenge was awarded on May 27, 2017 in a solemn atmosphere to Yuri Moskvin - a 3rd-year student of KazNU specialty "Chemical technology of organic substances."
