Dear graduate!
In the 1150th anniversary year of al-Farabi's birth whose name is worthily borne by our Alma mater, graduates presented a mechanical dial clock as a gift to the University. This generous gift essentially summed up the results of the traditional University holiday - Alumni Day, which was held online on May 30 of this year.
At the suggestion of patrons, the clock will be installed on a 19.3-meter-high stele. This is a kind of continuation of the Central alley "Mangilik El", the beginning of which on Timiryazev street rests on the triumphal arch "Mangilik El", which was built in 2016 by the University and graduates on the principles of public-private partnership.
And in the southern part of Kazgugrad is situated a section of a transport interchange. Here it is planned an erection of the stele with a clock "Mangilik El" also on the principles of PPP. The parameters of the clock are quite impressive and reach a diameter of 1600x1600 mm. The stele with the clock will be rectangular in shape on four supports and the size in the axes of 3, 80x3, 80 m.
In this regard, the Association of graduates of Al-Farabi KazNU announces its intention to build a stele with a clock on the basis of voluntary contributions.
The stele with the clock will represent the effectiveness of graduates support of the endowment University Development Fund. Of course, such stele is a presentable decoration not only of the world-class student campus, where our youth was spent, but also of Almaty сity.
